EKORR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

RULES & AGREEMENT

Last Updated: August 9, 2026

The EKORR Emergency Assistance Program is designed to provide eligible EKORR members with an opportunity to request assistance during qualifying financial hardships or emergencies.

EKORR believes that community means supporting one another when it matters most. At the same time, the Emergency Assistance Program must be administered responsibly and fairly so that resources remain available to serve the EKORR community.

By submitting an application for Emergency Assistance, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following rules.

1. SIX-MONTH MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT

A member must maintain an active EKORR membership for at least six (6) consecutive months before becoming eligible to apply for Emergency Assistance.

The six-month requirement begins from the member's original membership activation date, provided the membership remains active and in good standing.

Reaching six months of membership means that you become eligible to apply for assistance.

It does not guarantee that your application will be approved or that you will receive funds.

2. ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

At the time an Emergency Assistance application is submitted, the applicant must have an active EKORR membership and meet the applicable eligibility requirements of the program.

EKORR may verify membership history and eligibility before reviewing an application.

A canceled, terminated, fraudulent, or otherwise ineligible membership may affect eligibility for assistance.

3. MEMBERSHIP PAYMENTS ARE NOT PERSONAL SAVINGS

Payments made for an EKORR membership are membership fees. They are not deposits into an individual savings account, insurance policy, investment account, or personal emergency account.

A member does not accumulate an individual balance based on the amount of membership fees they have paid.

Membership in EKORR does not create an ownership interest or individual entitlement to money held within the Community Assistance Fund.

4. TYPES OF ASSISTANCE

Depending on the circumstances and available program resources, EKORR may consider requests involving needs such as:

  • Rent or housing assistance

  • Utility assistance

  • Groceries or essential food needs

  • Gas or essential transportation assistance

  • Holiday assistance

  • Scholarships or approved educational assistance

  • Other qualifying needs approved by EKORR

Not every financial difficulty or expense will qualify for assistance.

EKORR reserves the right to determine whether a particular request falls within the purpose and guidelines of the Emergency Assistance Program.

5. APPLICATION REQUIRED

Eligible members seeking assistance must complete the applicable EKORR Emergency Assistance application.

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

Applicants are responsible for providing complete and truthful information so EKORR can reasonably evaluate the request.

Incomplete applications may be delayed or denied.

6. DOCUMENTATION AND VERIFICATION

EKORR may require reasonable documentation to verify the circumstances described in an application.

Depending on the type of assistance requested, documentation may include items such as:

  • Rental or housing documentation

  • Past-due or shutoff notices

  • Utility bills

  • Invoices or statements

  • Proof of an eligible expense

  • Documentation identifying the applicable service provider or creditor

  • Other reasonable documentation necessary to verify the request

Applicants should provide only the information requested by EKORR and should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive personal information.

EKORR reserves the right to request additional information when reasonably necessary to evaluate an application.

7. APPROVAL IS NOT GUARANTEED

Emergency Assistance is never guaranteed.

Meeting the six-month membership requirement only gives an eligible member the opportunity to apply.

Approval may depend on factors including:

  • The nature and urgency of the request

  • Whether the request qualifies under program guidelines

  • Verification of the information submitted

  • Available Community Assistance Fund resources

  • Previous assistance received through the program

  • The number and urgency of other pending requests

  • Compliance with EKORR membership and community requirements

  • Other reasonable factors necessary to administer the program fairly

EKORR reserves the right to approve or deny requests consistent with program rules and applicable law.

8. AVAILABLE FUNDS

Emergency Assistance is subject to the availability of funds and program resources.

EKORR cannot guarantee that money will be available at the time a member submits an application.

An otherwise eligible application may be denied, delayed, placed on hold, or approved for less than the requested amount when available resources are insufficient.

EKORR's responsibility to operate the Community Assistance Fund sustainably may require us to limit assistance based on available resources and community needs.

9. AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE

The amount of assistance provided, if any, will be determined based on the circumstances of the request, available program funds, supporting documentation, applicable program limits, and other relevant factors.

The amount requested by an applicant is not guaranteed to be the amount approved.

EKORR may approve all, part, or none of a requested amount.

10. PAYMENT OF APPROVED ASSISTANCE

When practical and appropriate, EKORR may choose to make approved payments directly to the applicable landlord, utility company, service provider, vendor, educational institution, or other verified third party rather than providing cash directly to the member.

The payment method used will depend on the type of assistance and circumstances involved.

Approval of an application does not necessarily entitle the member to receive cash personally.

11. REPEAT REQUESTS

EKORR's Emergency Assistance Program is intended to provide assistance with qualifying circumstances and is not intended to serve as a recurring source of personal income or routine financial support.

Previous receipt of assistance does not guarantee approval of a future request.

EKORR may consider previous assistance when reviewing subsequent applications and may establish reasonable limits on the frequency or amount of assistance available to an individual member.

12. FALSE OR MISLEADING INFORMATION

Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information.

Submitting altered documents, fabricated emergencies, false statements, misleading information, or otherwise attempting to obtain assistance fraudulently is prohibited.

If EKORR reasonably determines that an application contains fraudulent or intentionally false information, the application may be denied.

Fraudulent activity may also result in suspension or termination of EKORR membership and other appropriate action.

13. CONFIDENTIALITY

EKORR understands that requests for emergency assistance may involve personal and sensitive circumstances.

Information submitted through the application process will be handled in accordance with EKORR's Privacy Policy and will be accessed or shared only as reasonably necessary to administer the program, verify information, process approved assistance, comply with law, or protect EKORR and its members.

14. COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE FUND

A portion of applicable EKORR membership revenue may be allocated to EKORR's Community Assistance Fund to support approved assistance and community initiatives.

Funds allocated to the Community Assistance Fund are intended to be tracked separately for their designated purpose.

The existence of the Community Assistance Fund does not create an individual entitlement to payment for any particular member.

15. NO LOAN OR INSURANCE RELATIONSHIP

Emergency Assistance approved through EKORR is not intended to operate as a loan, credit product, insurance policy, investment, or government benefit.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing for a particular program, approved Emergency Assistance is not expected to be repaid.

16. PROGRAM CHANGES

EKORR may modify the Emergency Assistance Program, eligibility requirements, application procedures, available categories of assistance, funding limits, or other program rules as reasonably necessary to maintain and responsibly operate the program.

Material changes will be communicated as appropriate and will apply in accordance with applicable law.

17. MEMBER ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By submitting an Emergency Assistance application, you acknowledge and agree that:

I understand that I must meet EKORR's six-month membership requirement before I am eligible to apply for Emergency Assistance.

I understand that eligibility to apply does not guarantee approval.

I understand that my membership payments do not create an individual savings account or guarantee that I will receive money from EKORR.

I understand that Emergency Assistance depends on eligibility, verification, program requirements, approval, and available funds.

I certify that the information and documentation I provide in my application are truthful and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

I understand and agree to the EKORR Emergency Assistance Program Rules.
